Around 15,000 laying hens are kept on the farm. A large proportion of the feed is mixed in-house and comes from the farm's own arable land. Wheat, barley and maize, among other things, grow on the farm's own land and serve as the basis for the feed. In this way, production and processing remain closely linked.
In addition to the farm' s own egg products, a wide selection of other regional foods awaits customers in the farm store with its fresh food counter. The range includes eggs and pasta from the farm's own production, various meat and poultry products, pork and beef, vegetables, flour, bread, cereal spices and cheese. The range is complemented by sausage products from the Kirchhoff butcher's shop.
The eggs from Hof Klaas are not only available directly from the farm store, but can also be found in numerous regional EDEKA and REWE Markt stores. The farm thus makes an important contribution to the regional supply of fresh, traceably produced food.
