The historic Valbert Hunting Horn Trail starts and ends in the center of Valbert, at the Denkmalplatz Valbert. Along the way, you will find many small information boards that explain the origins of the field names, the locations of the former smelters and industrial plants, as well as all kinds of folk tales about the formerly independent municipality of Valbert.
Most of this hiking trail runs on asphalt, sometimes alongside the road, but it also offers variety with natural paths through the forests at the foot of the Ebbegebirge.
After rainy days, the ground on site may be somewhat soggy.
First aid: In an emergency, call the emergency number 112 and quote the rescue point number. Rescue points are marked access points in the forest for rescue vehicles. If the nearest rescue point is not known, your location can be called up directly via AML (Advanced Mobile Location) during the emergency call.
Hungry hikers can enjoy a snack in the hiking restaurant in Echternhagen. Die Jause (Echternhagen 1, Tel. 02358/904030, diejause@outlook.de).
