The district of Soest presents itself to its guests and inhabitants as an attractive landscape and living space. It is rare to find such a variety of landscapes so close together elsewhere: gently rolling river meadows in the Lippe Valley, fields and meadows in the Soest Börde, large wooded areas with the mountains and valleys of the Arnsberg Forest Nature Park around Lake Moehne, Warstein and Rüthen, as well as charming villages and lively historic towns.
