Rumbeck Monastery, a nunnery, was founded as early as 1190 as a branch of Wedinghausen Monastery. The monastery and part of the church burned down in 1914, but were partly rebuilt. Of the monastery buildings, the provostry (1724) and the guest house (1695) have been preserved.
