Take a good look at the trees here. Do you know some of them? There is a colorful mixture of different species. Mountain ash, birch and mountain maple are so-called pioneer tree species. Their seeds are spread by wind or birds, so they are often at the beginning of forest development. The pioneer trees grow peacefully here alongside spruce, Douglas fir and even larch. In addition, there are important native tree species: the weeping cherry, the hornbeam and especially the copper beech.
