The gravelled area is designated as a parking lot by the Sauerland Rothaargebirge Nature Park. In the background, the Sundwig brook rushes thoughtfully and there is also an information board on the site with an overview of the hiking trails and the immediate surroundings.
The Sauerland Waldroute, which is certified as a quality hiking trail, begins on the other side of the road, a little way back from the parking lot toward the center of town and then goes quite steeply uphill for a short time until it reaches a bend to the left, from which you get your first impressions of the beautiful route. Romantic, green and very varied.
The maintenance of the infrastructure of the rest area is the responsibility of the city of Iserlohn.
