The Niederbergheim local history society has erected an old horizontal gate on the Belecke - Möhnesee cycle path as a technical cultural monument.

It is intended as a reminder that for centuries numerous people in the village lived from forestry work and wood processing.

The gate originates from a Niederbergheim sawmill that was shut down in 1978.
