The barrier wall was built in 1912. The lake is used for drinking water supply and is designated as a bathing lake. Since the construction of the Biggetalsperre, the Listersee is a side arm of the Biggesee.
Activities around the lake:
Fish species: eel, pike, roach, carp, trout, pikeperch, perch, tench.
Fishing licenses available at the reception.
There is a designated swimming beach in the Kalberschnacke area.
The wind conditions on the Listersee are ideal for surfing. Surfing is free of charge.
There is a generally accessible slipway below the Campinganlage Gut Kalberschnacke.
Sailboat moorings can be rented at the Campinganlage Gut Kalberschnacke.
The operator of the Listertalsperre is the public water management company Ruhrverband.
Fishing licenses available at the reception of the camping facility.
You have the possibility to buy fishing licenses for the Listertalsperre at the Ruhrverband(link to Ruhrverband). The basic requirement is the possession of a fishing permit issued by your local municipality.(delete). If you are in possession of a foreign fishing permit, you must have a German fishing permit issued by the citizens' office of your vacation resort. For further information, please contact the citizens' office in Meinerzhagen or the citizens' office in Drolshagen.
Please note that swimming is only allowed at the designated bathing spots and due to the high risk of forest fires, especially in the summer months, barbecuing and lighting campfires in the forests around the Listertalsperre is prohibited.
