The Sauerland reaches its greatest heights in the area of the Rothaargebirge. The Langenberg is with 843 m above sea level the highest mountain in North Rhine-Westphalia and thus towers over the much better known "Kahler Asten" by exactly two meters. In contrast to the Kahler Asten, there is unfortunately no distant view on the Langenberg. However, there is a Rothaarsteig hammock that invites you to take a break.
The Rothaarsteig stage from Willingen to Winterberg, among others, runs over the Langenberg.
