The Padberg-Hof - important inn of the past

On the "Heidenstraße", a much-used trade route from Cologne to Leipzig in earlier centuries, a resting place for merchants, carters and horses was established around 1800 in the Padberg-Hof, today Haus Ewers.

It was in this house that Henriette Davidis wrote parts of her famous cookbook "Praktisches Kochbuch für die gewöhnliche und feine Küche" in the 19th century and named two dishes after Küstelberg.

Other interesting incidents from the past can be read by guests interested in history on information boards or here.
