The hikers' parking lot in Attendorn-Roscheid (directly at the Roscheid farm) is located on the 1 km long access path to the Sauerland-Höhenflug.

Roscheid was first mentioned on October 10, 1463 in a document of the monastery Ewig, when it was a dispute of the monastery with a citizen of Attendorn about a hereditary property on a "mountain called Rosscheit". It was not until 1601 that the monastery had a "very small Kötter Gut" built on Roscheid. The tenant was supposed to take care of the monastery forests there.

In 1893 Hof Roscheid was bought by Emmerich Luke. Until then he had been working as a blacksmith and wagon maker in Petersburg and also ran a wagoners' tavern there. Today, the farm is still an inn and invites you to eat and drink after an invigorating hike.

The hiking parking lot "Roscheid" is the starting point for many beautiful hikes in the nature reserve Auf'm Ebbe and Berndebachtal. In addition to the access route to the popular Sauerland-Höhenflug long-distance hiking trail, circular hiking trails also invite you to spend relaxing hours in nature.

Round hiking tip over parts of the Sauerland-Höhenflug: A nice tour is the 13 km long round hiking trail A9. Via the access path and in sections via the main path of the Sauerland-Höhenflug, you hike through quarry and floodplain forests into the Berndebach Valley nature reserve and through the Wesebach Valley back to the starting point. If you prefer a shorter tour, follow the hiking trail A8, which shortens the longer circular trail A9 to 4.9 km.

Hiking tip for long-distance hikers: From here, the black-marked access trail takes you to the Sauerland-Höhenflug in one kilometer.
