The original Kahr house stood in the corner of the tower until 1996, but it was in danger of falling into disrepair, so the Traditionsverein Störmede demolished the house and rebuilt it on Steinweg. The old building materials could be reused for the most part.
Today the Heimathaus is the club house of the Traditionsverein and a museum. After arrangement with the board of the Traditionsverein and every first Sunday in the month the Heimathaus can be visited. In the house there are various exhibits and expositions, among others, about handicraft, agriculture or household.
On the open Sundays, the Heimathaus is open for visits and also for coffee. Cakes and coffee are offered there.
