The mapping of the Giershagen district is the ground plan of the Geological Garden. The various rock formations are shown in different colors according to their geographical location. The rock specimens are then mounted at the place of their respective discovery. The name of the rock type is written on plaques, and everything worth knowing about the geology of Giershagen can be read on information boards and illustrated with diagrams.
The geological garden can be reached via the Grube Reinhard recreational area (Meilerplatz). Those arriving by car can follow the sign in the direction of the Bionik-Pfad. Cyclists can reach the geological garden via the Diemelradweg.
