The Marienkapelle Hünkesohl, far from the traffic and noise of the road, romantically located in the forest, is a popular place of pilgrimage and prayer. It owes its creation to a modest simple woman: Theresia Berg (1861-1929) Abb. who has since become a legend. It is said that one day, while she was herding or fetching wood, a gust of wind blew a crumpled image of the Virgin Mary to her, which she pinned to a tree with her hairpin so that she could pray here from then on and always bring back fresh flowers that she picked on the way. She replaced the paper image, as it was falling apart, with a simple figure of Mary. This happened in the years before the First World War.
The forest chapel Hünkesohl is a popular place of pilgrimage in Drolshagen with always well-kept grounds.
