The distillery has been operated within the family since 1787, together with agriculture and the inn. Originally, the farmstead was a postal station on the Royal Prussian line Brandenburg - Kleve. Early on, the founders recognized the advantageous location of the Soest Börde with its fertile soils.
The initially few technical aids and the simple methods of production were constantly improved over time and adapted to the taste sensibilities.
This led to today's business with its variety of specialties.
