Observation tower

#deinsauerland / Outdooractive POIs / Enemuder Warte Obermarsberg

Remains of the old town wall can still be seen in Obermarsberg today, including the water tower and the Buttenturm. In total, there were seven watchtowers along the town wall. Other watchtowers outside the town, from which the surrounding area could be easily overlooked, were the Donnersberger Warte (also called the Mäuseturm) and the Priesterberger Warte on the mountain of the same name.

The Enemuder Warte is located in the Diemeltal at an altitude of about 277m. Today, the lookout is still about 5 m high, difficult to access, but can be visited on the 1st floor.

It can be reached via the B 7 in the direction of Marsberg as far as the Rennufer district, from there in the direction of Obermarsberg as far as a railroad bridge, behind this turn right as far as a signposted hikers' parking lot. From there, keep straight on for about 1.8 km, then following the sign, a steep little pad path leads down to the Diemel.
