Donated in 1682 by Mr. and Mrs. Cordes after a Lenne flood. Consecrated to St. Mary and St. John the Evangelist.In this place is also believed to be the "Smalen Burg", the nucleus of the town of Schmallenberg.After the abolition of the old memorial on the church square from 1932, in 1961 the memorial of the soldiers was moved to the chapel.
