Opened in September 2006, the Vodafone radio tower, also known as the "Schomberg Tower", is a great destination for the whole family.
With a total height of 65 meters, it rises into the air south of Sundern's highest elevation, the Schomberg (646 meters) in the Wildewiese ski area. If the tower is already impressive when viewed from below, then it becomes even more breathtaking on the viewing platform at a height of 30 meters, because the view is unbeatable.
On a clear day, you can look out over the northern Ruhrgebiet and the Lippe region as far as Münster, 85 km away, the Teutoburg Forest and the radio tower near Bielefeld, 90 km away. If the view is very good, you can see the Siebengebirge in the south, which is more than 80 km away, and even the Hohe Acht at the Nürburgring in the Eifel, which is 118 km away.
