The lookout point has been built on an old water reservoir. It is located on the KuLTour, a circular hiking trail on which many different art objects can be viewed. The Bigge-Lister trail also runs along this point.

The elevated tank was built in 1965 to supply water to the Drolshagen district of Bühren. Water was pumped into this tank from a spring below Bühren and stored, then piped back to Bühren at sufficient pressure. The plant was in operation until 2009, when Bühren was connected to the central water supply. Today, the elevated tank still serves as a fire water reservoir.
