The Ahausen reservoir is located below Attendorn in the Bigge valley. It was built in 1938 to regulate the Bigge and has also served as a balancing pond for the power plant operation of the Bigge dam since the Bigge dam was commissioned. The impoundment is made by an earth dam and a weir, between which a power plant is located. The weir has two weir gates and two fixed weir fields.
