The imposing abbey church in Meschede was inaugurated in 1964 according to plans by the Cologne architect Hans Schilling. The impressive exterior of the church is matched by the interior, which has been theologically and liturgically consistently shaped in the wake of the Second Vatican Council. The"House of Silence", inaugurated in 2001, is also architecturally impressive.
