TOUR 2 - The Hochsauerland Tour

From Winterberg, the road winds down from the mountain towards Schmallenberg. Shortly before reaching the village of Winkhausen (golf course), turn right along small side roads through the Sorpetal valley to Siedlinghausen. From there to Ramsbeck (tip: visitor mine and museum; Fort Fun leisure park) and via Bruchhausen (tip: natural monument and excursion destination Bruchhauser Steine) towards Olsberg. Through the town of Olsberg (many places to stop for refreshments), continue via Brilon (town of Brilon many places to stop for refreshments).
Via beautiful side roads along the Diemelsee through Thülen, through Bad Wünnenberg and to Fürstenberg (tip: detour to the Aabachtalsperre).
After approx. 13 km you reach the town of Marsberg (old historic border fortress with 1200 years of history, Besucherbergwerk Kilianstollen and a glassworks). Via Adorf (Grube Christiane) and Padberg Castle back to Diemelsee and then to the tourist town of Willingen (numerous tourist attractions, well worth a stop!). From there through Usseln and in a loop over beautiful side roads into Korbach Land and back towards Winterberg via Küstelberg past the source of the Ruhr (enclosed source of the famous river). A great tour with lots of beautiful side roads, sights along the way and small villages. (Tip: detour to the Kahler Asten (841 m).
