The tour starts in Wenholthausen at the Beckmann bus stop. From here, take bus no. 367 in the direction of Freienohl Bahnhof to the bus stop Meschede, Grevenstein Post. The bus stop is located on Ostfeld street, where the black marked access path begins (near the Schützenhalle). Follow Oststraße and turn into Ostfeld opposite the Landgasthof Grevenstein. The trail leads mainly through meadows and fields, circles the Schoneberg and the Ostenberg and meets the Sauerland-Höhenflug at the Estenberg transmitter. The exposed location of the Estenberg prompted the German army to erect a transmitter here during the Cold War. Today, the tower is used by a mobile phone company and is visible from afar as a landmark. From here, follow the main trail to Wenholthausen. The Sauerland-Höhenflug passes the Estenberg tower and continues mainly through forests towards Habbecke. On its way, the access routes from Niedersalwey and Eslohe meet the main hiking trail. The little half-timbered town of Eslohe in particular is well worth a visit with its famous museum of local history and machinery, the Domschänke tavern with its own brewery and the interesting Peter and Paul parish church! The Erdenklanghecke awaits you above Gut Habbecke. Meditative music can be heard from a hedge and the sculpture "Lauschgeist" captures the sounds of the forest - go into the head of the eavesdropper, who lies on the edge of the forest with his huge ears and listen intently to the quiet sounds of the forest. Several benches invite you to take a break with a beautiful view of the Wenne valley. The River Wenne has been renaturalized at great expense in recent years. Large parts of the lower course have been designated as nature reserves, where kingfishers and dippers breed and even the black stork can be seen feeding. The Sauerland-Höhenflug leads along a fallow deer enclosure and reaches Wenholthausen. Before the bridge to cross the Wenne, a black-marked access path turns left, which takes you along the Wenne to the hiking parking lot in the center of the village on Südstraße. The main path crosses the Wenne and at the corner of "Südstraße" and "Unter den Dornen". The Wenholthausen, Beckmann bus stop is just a few meters away on "Südstraße". The walk ends here.
