Heesfelder Mühle
Heesfelder Mühle
As guests in the forest, we show understanding, respect and correct behavior to ensure the use, protection and recreation of our forest.
The Heesfelder Mühlea popular excursion destination in the "Oben an der Volme" region in the Märkisches Sauerland, is the start and end point of this short (family) hike. There is a parking lot at the starting point of the circular trail and the historic buildings of the Heesfelder Mühle now house, among other things, a café and an organic food shop are housed in the historic buildings of the mill.
The short hike, marked with trail sign A11, is particularly suitable for young and old who just want to take a short walk in the fresh air. The route on meadow and forest paths requires "normal" footwear. The short ascent/descent is easy to manage for all fans of fresh air with a steady step.
Halfway through the short hike, there is a small rest area with an information board about charcoal burning.
After the short hike, it is also worth making a detour to theHeesfelder Mühle orchard, not far from the mill building complex. Information boards provide hikers with lots of interesting information and a forest sofa invites them to take a relaxing break.
Starting at the historic setting of the Heesfelder Mühle, we cross the small stone bridge over the still young Halver. Passing a private property, we keep to the right, cross a meadow until we reach the hollow path at the edge of the forest, which leads us into the forest, accompanied by a small stream. After a few hundred meters, we turn left and take the trail, where a small picnic area awaits us after a few meters. The path now climbs slightly. At the top, we follow the path to the left before reaching the (orchard) meadows at Heesfelder Mühle again.
You don't need any (professional) equipment for this short hiking tour.
After rainy days, the ground on site may be somewhat soggy.
First aid: In an emergency, call the emergency number 112 and quote the rescue point number. Rescue points are marked access points in the forest for rescue vehicles. If the nearest rescue point is not known, your location can be called up directly via AML (Advanced Mobile Location) during the emergency call.
A stop at the Café Heimatliebe (Heesfelder Mühle 5, Tel. 02353/6648226, anfrage@cafeheimatliebe.de) is definitely worth a visit.
