The H3 is 4.8 km long and starts at the parking lot of the tourist information office in Heringhausen.


It takes you around the Schörenberg and Esten Berg with beautiful views. The best way to start the H3 is to take the small path to the left of the church uphill to Rasenbergweg and follow the H3 from there. The trail consists of asphalted, natural and unpaved paths and is one of the easy hikes here at Diemelsee.

Directions

From the parking lot at the tourist information office, take the small path to the right of the church and walk 200 m until you meet the H3 turning left. Walk 600 m on the Seestr., turn right, walk 160 m and turn left. After another 600 m, turn right at a T-junction. Follow this path for another 200 m, turn right and follow the path for 1.1 km directly to Diemelsee. Turn right and follow the road for 850 m, turn right again and walk back to the starting point.

From the north: Drive towards Hannover and take the A7 towards Kassel until the Kasseler Kreuz junction, then take the A44 towards Dortmund, exit Marsberg towards Diemelsee
From the east: Take direction Kassel, then A44 Dortmund exit Marsberg direction Diemelsee-Heringhausen
From the west: Direction Dortmund, A44 direction Kassel, exit Marsberg direction Diemelsee-Heringhausen
From the south: Munich in the direction of Nuremberg, Kassel and onto the A44 in the direction of Dortmund, take the Marsberg exit and drive towards Diemelsee Heringhausen
