The “Red Cliff” is also a place where childhood memories are easily reawakened. At twilight, the view takes in the two entrances to the so-called Dachsburg, where a shy resident with black-and-white fur sometimes appears—drawn by the nearby cornfields. The surroundings grow quiet, and the landscape begins to blend with images from times long past.

The massive, 350-million-year-old iron ore boulders suddenly form the walls of an imaginary canyon. The old burial sites from medieval mining transform into hideouts from a distant adventure. And the dense belt of wild roses framing the red rocks becomes the protective wall of a secret tribe.
