The D3 hiking trail is located west of Wirmighausen at an elevation of about 400 meters above sea level. Its peaceful setting on the edge of the forest makes it an ideal retreat for hikers, cyclists, and nature lovers.
The expansive landscape of fields, forests, and meadows of the Rottenberg stretches out before you. The open surroundings offer magnificent views over the rolling hills of the Diemelsee vacation region and convey a sense of vastness and freedom. Nature shows itself at its most beautiful, especially in the morning hours when the landscape slowly awakens, or in the evening bathed in warm light.
