It is one of only 17 tracks in the world and is located right on the outskirts of Winterberg. It is open to visitors year-round. From October through the end of February, visitors can watch athletes train daily. Numerous competitions can also be attended free of charge.
The VELTINS-EisArena is: a tourist attraction, a crowd-pleaser, a successful talent incubator for tomorrow’s ice skating stars, and a meeting place for the world’s absolute elite.
The track is one of the most modern and technically sophisticated in the world. It epitomizes thrilling competitions, performance, and the very essence of “sportsmanship.”
The 110-meter elevation difference and 15 steep curves push the athletes to their absolute limits. They race through the VELTINS-EisArena at speeds of up to 140 kilometers per hour.
Spectators are right in the thick of the action as bobsleds, luge, and skeleton sleds hurtle downhill at breathtaking speeds. Thousands eagerly follow the action on the ice track. In addition to the athletic competitions, spectators and visitors to the track can look forward to an extensive and varied supporting program that offers something for young and old alike.

You can explore the VELTINS-EisArena sports facility for free. Training sessions and smaller sporting events (excluding World Cups and World Championships) can also be attended free of charge.
