The oldest building in Lippetal is the Catholic parish church of St. Stephanus.
This is a two-bay hall building, which was erected in the Romanesque style around the middle of the 13th century. The sturdy west tower with numerous arched openings dates back to the 12th century.
In the 18th century, the church was given a baroque spire, which is striking for this region. Inside, a magnificently carved high altar from the 17th century, a carved pulpit and side altars stand out. The latter come from the Dominican monastery in Soest. The church is built in the middle of the old town center of Oestinghausen. The church square is still surrounded by numerous half-timbered houses and reveals the historic development of this area. The narrow alleyways in the vicinity of the church invite you to take a leisurely stroll.
