In the 9th century, the parish church became the center of a noble ladies' convent. The tower (and thus the first brick-built church) is documented to date from 897 to 913. The current apse with the raised choir was built after a fire in the 12th century.

The choir of the pre-Romanesque church, which is accessible, was found under the current high choir.

Behind the metre-thick walls, you can admire old chalices and much more in the treasury of the Walburga church.

A tour of the treasury is only possible by appointment at the parish office!
