In the 9th century, the parish church became the center of a noble ladies' convent. The tower (and thus the first brick-built church) can be traced back to the years 897 to 913. After a fire in the 12th century, the current apse with the raised choir was built.

The choir of the pre-Romanesque church, which is accessible, was found under today's high choir.

Behind meter-thick walls, you can admire old chalices and much more in the treasury of St. Walburga's Church.

A visit to the treasury is only possible by appointment at the parish office!
