The bakery is the only one of the four former neighborhood bakeries to have survived. The building has been a listed historic site since 1984 and is still used as a bakery. Once a week, the popular Bachkausbrot is baked in the old brick oven according to a traditional recipe.
Our tip: This bread is considered a Hallenberg specialty and is highly sought after by locals and visitors alike. To ensure you get a loaf of stone-oven bread if you’re interested, be sure to pre-order it in advance.
The bakery is open on Saturdays from 5:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. You can pick up your bread at the bakery starting around 9:00 a.m.
