Haus Honning and Weichsscher Hof were built after the great town fire of 1600. Both buildings breathe history. They served as the seat of the land registrar and later as the residence of the head huntsman of Weichs. The Weichssche Hof changed use several times, was even a music academy for a short time and is now privately owned. Although permanently closed, its historical aura still captivates visitors today.

The historic ensemble of Haus Honning and Weichsscher Hof rises up in the middle of wintry Arnsberg. Both buildings, once built on the site of defunct castle manors, still exude a fascinating aura today. After the devastating town fire of 1600, the Honningsche Hof was erected and served as the seat of the land registrar of the Duchy of Westfalen. The Weichssche Hof also embodies the architecture of the time and served for centuries as the stately town house of the head huntsman of Weichs. Originally owned by one of the most important families in the region, the building has had a varied history, at times becoming a music academy.

In winter, when the snow covers the silent witnesses of the past, this ensemble unfolds its own magic. The half-timbered structure stands out impressively against the white masses of snow and creates a fairytale setting. Visitors who decide to take a stroll through Arnsberg will be captivated by the timeless beauty of this architectural jewel.

Even though the buildings are now privately owned by families and closed to the public, they invite you on a mental journey into the heart of Westfalen. These places tell of an eventful history full of change and cultural significance, which unfolds a very special attraction in the cold of winter. A visit at this time of year allows you to immerse yourself in the past of these historic sites and take in the tranquillity and beauty of the winter landscape.
