The building was erected in 1897 for the Loers & Hueck button factory. After the takeover by Wilhelm Berg in 1905/06, an aluminum processing company was founded, which produced household and kitchen appliances as well as equipment for the army.

Today, the building houses part of the Lüdenscheid Development and Start-up Center.

1992, the building was added to the list of monuments of the city of Lüdenscheid and can only be viewed from the outside.
