After moving from Vienna to Berlin, writer Joachim Meyerhoff finds it difficult to settle in the capital: he is stressed - and still feels the effects of his stroke. Is his life threatening to slip away from him? To get back on track, he seeks refuge with his mother. He also wants to finally write again...
What begins as an escape from his own problems turns into an encounter with the past. The play tells of crises, closeness and new beginnings with disarming openness and subtle humor. Everyday moments and anecdotes give rise to big questions: What was your own childhood like in the North? What doesn't work in your own family life today? In a finely balanced play between grotesque humor and melancholy depth, mother and son meet in a new way. Between growing older and memories, an evening of theater unfolds about what sustains us - even when we fall.
Following the great successes of "Wann wird es endlich wieder so, wie es nie war", "Ach diese Lücke, diese entsetzliche Lücke" and "Alle Toten fliegen hoch - Amerika", this is the fourth stage adaptation of Joachim Meyerhoff's novels.
