One night, Gerda's best friend Kay is kidnapped by the Snow Queen. Gerda picks up the scent and enters a mysterious and wondrous world on her search: a strange bird, singing flowers, a stubborn reindeer and a bear-strong robber's daughter help her along. In the end, Gerda finds herself at the North Pole in front of the Snow Queen's imposing frosty palace...
The NN Theater Köln remains true to itself in this production and leaves the young audience room for their own imagination. Entire worlds are created from paper and the simplest of materials. The play shows that courage pays off and friendship overcomes everything. Oliver Schnelker and Christine Per impress with their acting skills and closeness to the audience. The fairy tale "The Snow Queen" was written by the Danish poet Hans Christian Andersen and published in 1844. The stage adaptation fits very well on the theater stage in the (pre)-Christmas season.
