"Sundays in the library" is back - Warstein-Belecke public library invites children to read with Alexander Steffensmeier
It starts on Sunday, June 1. At 2 p.m., the well-known author and illustrator Alexander Steffensmeier will tell stories about Lieselotte the cow for children aged four and over. Lieselotte lives with her farmer's wife and the other animals on the farm. As the world's first post cow, she sometimes helps her friend, the letter carrier, with his work. With her curiosity and charm, she gets involved in amusing adventures. Steffensmeier tells the story of how she came to be a "post cow" and the adventures she has in the rain in the library. He involves the children: he asks questions, has them look for things in pictures and explains how a new picture book is created.
Alexander Steffensmeier was born in Lippstadt in 1977 and already enjoyed making chestnut figures in kindergarten. "Lieselotte" was part of his diploma thesis. Since completing his design studies with a focus on illustration at Münster University of Applied Sciences, he has been working as a freelance illustrator.
"We are delighted that we have been able to secure such a well-known author for a reading in the library. So that we can plan better, please register for this reading," invites Krüger. Registration can be made at the library, by telephone on 02902/2302 or by e-mail to: stadtbuecherei@warstein.de. Registrations will be considered in the order in which they are received. As space is limited, a maximum of 60 people can attend. The library will be open from 10.30 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the day of the event, but the library team would ask you to use the time outside the reading for borrowing books if possible. Admission is free.
The "Sundays in the Library" event series is sponsored by the Ministry of Culture and Science of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia.
