An ambiguous puzzle play about "Faust" - a gripping chamber play about power, morality and relationships in times of right-wing extremism, played by just two actors who constantly switch between roles, attitudes and identities.

Since the right-wing extremists formed the state government, the Goethe-Gymnasium has found itself in a difficult situation. It's not just the faculty that's in trouble - the new political situation is also driving a wedge between Ella and Tim, who have been a couple for thirty years.

Why is Tim being made principal now of all times?
And what interests are her colleagues Fred and Paula pursuing? Are they still bickering - or are they already cooperating? Some duck away, others call for resistance.

Ella

and Tim prepare the graduation ceremony together with Fred and Paula. Politicians from the new government are also expected to attend, and

in short scenes we see how the couples become entangled with each other - on a relationship level, in their career ambitions, educationally, politically and ideologically. What is particularly impressive is that the entire story is played by just two actors - they take it in turns to play all the roles, change perspectives and genders and sometimes take positions that they have just been fighting against,

creating a puzzle about identity, attitudes and the question:
Are they still a couple at all? And if so, how many?
