The story is about the little dragon Tabaluga, who is sent on a journey by his father. On the road to sanity, he has to rely on his imagination and encounters interesting characters such as the moon, the ant queen, a giant, the tree of life, the fire salamander, the stork and the sea turtle Nessaja. Tabaluga learns strange new things and interesting life lessons on his journey. At the end of his journey, Nessaja tells him that she never wanted to grow up and that deep down she has remained a child.
