Culinary highlight at a depth of 300 meters: the train slowly starts to move for your journey into the tunnels deep in the mountain. Ahead of you is a guided tour of the mine and a unique experience dinner at tables festively decorated with candles and ore stones - a meal that you will remember forever.
You will be served the traditional Sauerland slate platter, Essen from the Henkelmann with hearty sauerkraut, potatoes, mini knuckle of pork and cheese on a beech board.
Typical event schedule:
5:15 p.m. - reception of participants, museum tour, dressing
6:00 p.m. - entry into the Eickhoffstollen with the original mine train. Followed by a 40-minute guided tour of the ore mine
6:45 pm - Eating at the tipping station by candlelight
8:30 pm - Rest of the tour and exit
9:15 pm - End of the event
The entry and end times may vary depending on group size. Please wear warm clothing and sturdy shoes to the event. A constant temperature of 11 degrees is maintained at the tipping station.
The menu
Homemade ham on the bone served on Sauerland slate, food from the Henkelmann with hearty sauerkraut, small potatoes and mini knuckle of pork, cheese on a beech board. Drinks are served with the meal. (Veltins beer, orange juice, apple juice, mineral water and a Landrotwein).
The event lasts approx. 3.5 hours including the guided tour. For safety reasons, only limited alcohol can be served "underground". (Essen and drinks are included in the total price).
Please wear warm clothing and sturdy shoes for the event. The dinner takes place underground in the mine.
