Jews have lived in Lippstadt since the Middle Ages, interrupted by periods of expulsion. A period of emancipation began in the 19th century. The catastrophe of the Holocaust meant expulsion and murder for the Jews of Lippstadt. Parts of the synagogue destroyed in 1938 have survived to this day. The tour leads to places of Jewish life and introduces personalities who shaped the life of the town.
