Christmas is over. Fredo is a little boy. He and his mother dig up the Christmas tree in the forest, because the tree still has all its roots and should live on. But the forest is not a good place. It is already apparent in spring: it is too dry, the air is poisoned and the beech tree is already coughing. Fredo's tree is suffering and with it the whole forest. The old trees tell him that a dragon is poisoning the air and drinking away the water. Fredo can help a little with his watering can, but he can't water the whole forest. Even with the help of his friends, it can't be done. Nevertheless, he doesn't give up.
