The soul does not remain untouched by this firework of punchlines. A woman at the height of her forties, as beautiful and brilliant as "Forty Carats". Lisa - in her forties, successful real estate agent, divorced, one daughter - has a car breakdown in Greece, where Guillaume, a student camping on the beach, comes to her rescue. Lisa and Guillaume spend the night together. Back in New York, everyday life quickly returns. Lisa's mother, Monette, would like her granddaughter Annick to be engaged to Guillaume, the "heir to great fancies". Lisa, on the other hand, should distract herself with the likeable Mr. di Fiori. The reunion with Guillaume really upsets Lisa and Monette immediately feels compelled to spin the strings, while Guillaume deliberately sets out to conquer the reluctant successful woman. "Forty Carats" is an elegant, amusing and heartfelt comedy of twists and turns.
