Love can unleash unexpected powers - for example, the power to forget the most adverse circumstances around you for a moment. And so Hilde (Liv Lisa Fries) and Hans (Johannes Hegemann) manage to find moments of amorous togetherness in the midst of the constantly lurking danger during the Second World War in 1942. Hilde is attracted to Hans, among others, because he is not only not a Nazi but is also actively involved in the resistance. She also becomes a member of the group known as the "Red Orchestra" and gets involved in more and more activities until they are finally exposed and Hilde is sent to prison pregnant.
