The orchestra regularly performs in the municipal theater shortly after the autumn week period. Although a large part of its remit is to perform the troop ceremonial at swearing-in ceremonies, command handovers and the Grand Tattoo, the Army Music Corps, which was set up in 1956 and is conducted by Captain Christoph Schiffers, maintains a busy concert schedule. From traditional army marches and rousing original compositions to lively light music and modern special arrangements, the Kassel Army Music Corps has an impressive variety of repertoire, which also includes jazz elements and show music. This makes it one of the most outstanding professional orchestras on the German wind band scene. As a musical figurehead of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Kassel Army Music Corps regularly represents the Bundeswehr at international events. Highlights of recent years have included participation in renowned music shows such as the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo and the Virginia International Tattoo, as well as concert tours to Mexico and other European countries
