A turning point in internal security?
How global conflicts are changing the internal threat situation
Global crises do not stop at borders - they have a deep impact on our society. For example, Russian strategies of hybrid warfare - from disinformation and espionage to support for extremist movements - are aimed specifically at destabilizing Europe. The Middle East conflict also appears to be increasing social polarization, fuelling anti-Semitism and further instrumentalizing solidarity with Palestine politically. There is also the question of the influence of other actors such as Iran, Turkey or China on German soil.
For the Minister of the Interior of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, these issues are part of his daily political work. In his lecture, Mr. Reul will describe the various challenges from his perspective and assess their impact on NRW.
We look forward to welcoming you to this exciting evening of lectures and an insightful discussion!
