Orchids and gentians - close to the open-air stage in Lennestadt-Elspe is an impressive nature reserve that enchants visitors with its juniper stands, semi-dry calcareous grasslands and, above all, its abundance of flowers. This is because calcareous semi-dry grasslands are very species-rich habitats, but are rarely found in our region.
The Sauerland Rothaargebirge Nature Park, together with nature park guide Michael Elspe, invites interested nature lovers to explore this special habitat complex on the Rübenkamp in the immediate vicinity of the Karl May Festival site in Lennestadt-Elspe. Be captivated by the abundance of flowers and marvel at the many orchid species that you can discover on the hike.
The hike will take place on May 31, 2025 from 2.00 pm. The hike is approx. 6 km long and takes about 3 hours. The meeting point is the Kirchloh hiking parking lot, above Lennestadt-Elspe, Seilmecke. The hike is free for children and young people (6 to 16 years), for adults the cost is 5 euros per person. Children under the age of six do not need to book a ticket.
