Brilon Kultour presents Quartonal, one of Germany's most sought-after vocal ensembles, for Christmas. Sacred works by Gjeilo, Dubra, Schronen and others full of depth and contemplation meet traditional Christmas carols, sonorous American Christmas classics and the familiar melodies of Rolf Zuckowski - stylishly and virtuosically arranged. Quartonal has its roots in northern Germany with the Uetersen choirboys. The four young singers Mirko Ludwig (tenor), Jo Holzwarth (tenor), Christoph Behm (baritone) and Sondern Tams Freier (bass) delight audiences at their concerts not only with their extremely varied repertoire and their extremely homogeneous sound, but also with their dedication to musical detail and not least with their humorous manner. After founding the ensemble in 2006, Quartonal won 1st prize in the vocal ensemble category at the German Choir Competition in Dortmund in 2010. This was followed by audience and jury prizes at the Leipzig International A Cappella Competition and the renowned Tolosako Abesbatza Lehiaketa competition in Tolosa (Spain).
