Ringelstein
Brilon Alme
The route starts in the small village of Ringelstein - a former forest and workers' settlement. A particular highlight here is the ruins of Ringelstein Castle with a fantastic view over the Almetal valley.
From the old station in Ringelstein, the trail leads up to the Brilon plain in the direction of the burial mounds. The ascent now continues up to the Romberg in the direction of the village of Wülfte.
The route now leads through the woods to the finish point, once around the villages of Alme to the finish point - the duck barn in Alme. Here you can relax and enjoy the time at the Almer Schlossmühle with a delicious meal and a wonderful view. The village center also invites you to linger and offers many places to relax and enjoy!

Information about the rescue signs on the Sauerland-Waldroute
Most hiking trails run away from towns and settlements and every hiker has thought about what would happen if an emergency were to occur. How can I be found here? Where am I anyway? Can the emergency services reach me?
In an emergency, things have to happen quickly! That's why the Sauerland-Waldroute is equipped with so-called rescue signs throughout. The green and white stickers attached to the posts of the signposts have a number that you must give when making an emergency call. This means that the emergency services know exactly where you are and valuable time can be saved.
