The scenic and well-signposted route leads over 52 kilometers across the Schmallenberger Sauerland around Schmallenberg. Gentle hills alternate with fertile valleys and give the cycling families a touch of "Tuscany charm". The easy to moderately difficult route has a high proportion of asphalt and is suitable for touring bikes and sporty families.
Along the way, families become explorers. Playgrounds, ponds and pedal pools invite you to take a fun break, streams promise cooling off and a good opportunity to splash around. The adventure of nature beckons everywhere: animals along the way such as horses, goats, donkeys and cows in the fields. With a bit of luck, you might even catch a glimpse of deer, black storks, herons, stags or hares.
The Kinderland cycle route starts at the Schmallenberg tourist information office with the yellow logo (no. 1) and the blue arrow sign in the direction of the villages of Fleckenberg, Lenne, Schmallenberg Kurpark, Grafschaft, Almert, Oberkirchen, Winkhausen, Niedersorpe, Holthausen, Bad Fredeburg, Ebbinghof, Berghausen, Selkentrop, Felbecke, Werpe back to Schmallenberg, the route length is approx. 53 km.Alternative short variants are marked from Almert (2 red), Bad Fredeburg (4 green) and Ebbinghof (3 purple).
