Join us on a journey of discovery through the centuries. Hike along ancient transportation routes and enjoy the magnificent landscape and impressive views.
Discover the hard work of the miners as you explore the mining tracks and immerse yourself in their subterranean world on a tour of the tunnels.
But also imagine the strenuous journeys through narrow hollow paths from the tunnels to the huts in the valleys, both for humans and animals, and think of the hard and lonely work of the charcoal burners.
The Gewerkenweg becomes complete when the hike is preceded by a visit to the Haus Hövener Museum in Brilon and the conditions of mining from the 18th to the 20th century are impressively demonstrated during the tour of the Philippstollen.
The main trail takes you past 14 stations over a length of around 11 km. The starting or finishing point in Brilon is the Haus Hövener Museum, in Olsberg the Haus Bathen.The "Alte Hütte Loop" also starts at the Haus Hövener Museum, passes 7 further stations and joins the main trail after around 10 km at the Hilbringse customs station.

Brilon:
Take the train to the Brilon-Stadt stop, then walk 400 m to the Brilon market square.
Take the bus to the Brilon-Markt stop.
Olsberg:
Take the train to the Olsberg Bahnhof stop.
Take the bus to the Olsberg Bahnhof stop.

A1 to Dortmund/Unna junction - then A44 to Werl junction - then
A445/A46 to Bestwig-Velmede junction and continue on the B7 to Brilon
from the north:
Hannover - A2 to Bielefeld junction - A33 to Wünnenberg-Haaren junction
and continue on the B480 to Brilon
from the east:
A44 Kassel to Wünnenberg-Haaren junction and continue on the B480 to Brilon or exit at Marsberg junction and continue on the B7 to Brilon
from the south:
to Kassel and continue on the A44 to Wünnenberg-Haaren junction or exit at Marsberg junction and continue on the B7 to Brilon
Paid parking is available directly around the Brilon market square. Otherwise free parking at the Kreishaus/police station.
